During the year, interesting events happen in Manchester. Here are some of them!
Electric Chair
This is a monthly event in Manchester. At The Music Box, at 65a Oxford St, the DJ outfit Unabombers, by their name: Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford, put together a show with great dance music. The cost of the event is £9, and it lasts from 10 pm to 4 am.
Christmas Markets
Every year, from 18 Nov - 21 Dec, in Albert Square, people of Manchester gather in German Market, European Market and an Arts and Crafts Market. The event includes brightly lit traditional wooden chalets, filled with unusual Christmas gifts. You can find everywhere French cheese, Dutch plants and Christmas trees, as well as Belgian chocolates, pickles, Christmas decorations and aromatic oils.
Dazzle
The admission to this event is free and it is every year from 23 Nov - 2 Jan, held at Manchester Town Hall. This is the perfect place to purchase unique and original gifts. The jewelries presented by the designers of Dazzle, are made from bone, plastic, wood, feathers, titanium, gold, silver, aluminum and semi-precious stones. The prices of these pieces are from £10 to well over £1000.
Holiday & Travel Show
Every year, at Manchester Central, Windmill Street, more than 800 exhibitors, from over 100 countries are expected. The visitors can explore different destinations and ask any question about traveling. The Travel Temptations Zones present music, culture and cuisine from their region.
CAMRA National Winter Ales Festival
The cost and time of this annual event varies. It is held at New Century House, at Corporation St. Over 200 types of beer and cider are being presented here. Drinks are accompanied by quality, live music concerts.
Caravan and Motorhome Show
It's a place where people who like to spend their vacation on wheels, can ask for an advice from the experts. The show presents the latest models of caravans and a' large range of accessories, like satellite navigation and mini refrigerators. It takes place at Manchester Central, every year in January.
English National Badminton Championships
If you like badminton, be sure to visit Manchester every year in February, and make a stop at the Manchester Velodrome. For members of Badminton England the cost is from £6-£10, and if you're not a member, you will pay £8-£14.
National Squash Championships
It takes place at National Squash Centre, every year in February. The cost varies, and the time of the event is as follows: from Monday-Wednesday, from 12pm-8pm; Thursday at 6pm; Friday at 3pm & 6pm; Saturday & Sunday at 12pm, 1pm & 5pm.
"Viva" Spanish Film Festival
It is an event with visual arts and film happening in March, every year. It presents popular, independent, documentaries, featuring premieres and previews of recent features. Top filmmakers often make their appearance here, a long with actors and film critics. It is perfect for people with an interest in Spanish and Latin American film and culture.
Futuresonic
It's a music festival presenting live performances, taking place in venues across Manchester. Futuresonic happens every year in May and it's a place where people gather to listen to live music and have a good time with friends or family.
Kids Fun Ideas Show
This is where parents can learn new, interesting ideas to keep their little ones busy. The event contains dance and science shows that will certainly get the attention of children. It is every year in June, at Manchester Central, and will cost you £6. It is free for children under 16 years old.
Selfridges Manchester Summer Sale
It is popular among shoppers, for the 50% discounts on designer labels for women, children and men, luggage, furniture and electric items. Gordon Selfridge opened in 1909 his store, which now attracts 17 million visitors every year. A branch of the store was opened in Trafford Centre in 1998. The event takes place from June to July, every year.
Manchester Jazz Festival
When this festival takes place in Manchester, concerts fill the entire city, at venues like Albert Square and Bridgewater Hall. For music lovers, this is the perfect opportunity to listen to quality live, music performances. It is held every year, from July to August.
